Podcast clip generator: episodes to shareable clips

A podcast episode is often an hour or more of conversation with a handful of moments that deserve to travel on their own: a strong opinion, a story, a funny exchange. Finding those moments is the slow part. A podcast clip generator should do the finding, the cutting and the captioning, and then get out of your way.

Clip Studio, part of Novam Studio, is built for exactly this kind of long, speech-heavy source. This page walks through how it handles a podcast episode and what you can configure.

Start from the episode you already have

Upload the video file of your recording, or paste a YouTube link if the episode is already published there. The Studio transcribes the full conversation with Whisper so the system works from the words, not from guesses about loudness or pauses.

If your show is video-first, you get video clips. The clip format list includes a dedicated Podcast Clips preset at 1080 by 1080, a square layout that works well in feeds, alongside vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts and landscape 16:9 for YouTube and X.

Moments picked from the transcript

After transcription, an AI model reads the conversation and selects the segments most worth clipping. Because it works on the text, clips begin and end at natural sentence boundaries. You decide how many clips you want and set a minimum and maximum length, so a weekly episode can yield a few tight 30-second teasers or a longer set of 90-second segments.

You can also write a prompt telling the tool what to look for, such as a guest's advice on a topic or the moments where the hosts disagree.

Captions that suit silent autoplay

Most people first see a clip with the sound off, which is why captions matter. Clip Studio burns captions into each clip, synced word by word from the transcript. You choose the font (for example Impact, Bebas Neue, Anton, Montserrat Bold, Oswald Bold, Bangers or DM Sans Bold), the text and outline colors, the size, and where the captions sit on the frame, with a preview before the render.

Details podcasters usually ask about

Publish without leaving the app

Send finished clips to Drafts, let the AI write a caption for each platform in your show's voice, and schedule them to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X or LinkedIn. Publishing runs in the cloud, so the queue continues when your computer is closed. Evergreen Loop can repost a strong clip on an interval you choose, which suits a back catalog of episodes.

If you produce more than one show, create a brand workspace for each so voice, hashtags, call to action and watermark stay separate.

Limits to know about

Clip selection is automated and works from speech, so audio-only episodes need a video or visual to go with them, and the first draft of clips will occasionally need a second pass with a different prompt or length range. Watch the clips before they go out.

Try it on your own footage. Create an account, connect a platform and run your first long video through Clip Studio.
